The Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics and Government Studies with Honours at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of political systems, governance structures, and public policy processes. Offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, this program prepares students to critically analyze political dynamics, policy-making mechanisms, and the roles of governments and institutions in society. Its objectives include equipping students with a solid foundation in political theories, comparative politics, and governmental systems; developing their ability to critically analyze political issues, policy challenges, and governance strategies; providing practical knowledge and skills in policy analysis, public administration, and decision-making processes; and fostering an understanding of global political trends, international relations, and their implications for domestic governance.

The programme shall produce graduates who are:

• To engage in the practice of professionalism and possess leadership skills by applying theories and concepts of political science.
• To apply administrative instruments and skills as practitioners.
• To demonstrate good values such as discipline and integrity in workplace.
• To explore opportunities and adapt themselves to the global working environment.

Upon graduating from this program, the students are able to:
