The Bachelor of Social Sciences in International Relations with Honours at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) equips students with a thorough understanding of global political dynamics, international affairs, and the intricate relationships between nations. Offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, this program prepares students to critically analyze and address complex issues in international relations, diplomacy, and global governance. Its objectives include providing a robust foundation in international relations theories, global political economy, and international law; developing the ability to critically assess global issues, foreign policy decisions, and international conflicts; equipping students with skills for diplomatic negotiation, conflict resolution, and strategic analysis; and fostering an understanding of cultural diversity and international cooperation, with an emphasis on ethical considerations and sustainable development in global interactions.

The programme shall produce graduates who are:

• Able to acquire knowledge in the field of International Relations.
• Able to conduct research to advance their academic careers relating to international relations.
• Able to critically analyse issues related to international relations and global community.
• Able to participate in international dealing through their knowledge of international systems and global processes, cross-cultural negotiation and management as well as strategic and ethical leadership.

Upon graduating from this program, the students are able to:

• Apply research knowledge and subsequently produce academic writings related to International Studies.
