The Bachelor of Social Sciences in Development Planning and Management with Honours at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of development planning and management principles and practices. Offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, this program reflects the university's commitment to producing graduates capable of addressing the complex challenges of sustainable development in a rapidly changing world. The program's objectives include providing students with a holistic understanding of development theories, policies, and practices at local, national, and international levels; developing critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for effective planning and management in various sectors; equipping students with practical skills in research, data analysis, and project management; and emphasizing sustainable development principles to ensure students can contribute to environmentally and socially responsible planning and management practices.

The programme shall produce graduates who are:

• Knowledgeable and competent in the field of development studies.
• Master the technical and interpersonal skills and able to critically analyze issues related to development studies.
• Able to apply functional skills in speaking, listening, communicating, reading and writing with the usage of technology and reflective observations in the field of development studies.
• Able to apply entrepreneurial skills, leadership characteristics through communicating and working ethically and contribute to resilient community.
