Social Sciences and Humanities Research Conference 2022 (SSHR22)
Introduction
Science and society are closely intertwined. Evidence-based science allows informed decision-making that helps in managing and mitigating societal challenges. In a dynamic and complex environment that became more evident since 2020, it is more vital for science to empower society so that it can withstand unprecedented changes and respond effectively to future challenges.
On its own, science does not bring changes – the scientific findings need to be put into practice, transformed into actions, and connected to the lives of the society. The breakthrough knowledge and solutions for a shared global sustainability need to come from both the natural science and the social science experts.
This mini-conference aims to tie multidisciplinary threads together. It welcomes researchers embarking on transdisciplinary research in social science and humanities to share their scientific findings. It also welcomes researchers from the non-social science and humanities backgrounds to showcase discoveries that have the potential to solve society’s complex problems.
Objectives
1. To provide a platform for researchers to share their scientific findings and discoveries
2. To establish a network and collaboration among researchers from various disciplines
3. To strengthen the synergy between science and society through the sharing of scientific inquiry, educational exposure and utilization of scientific knowledge
